Letting the Saudi families fly out of the country , when everyone was grounded told me all I needed to know about him.
Then he duped us on Iraq.
bush’s mistake was to allow iraq to remain a muslim country and not guarantee freedom of religion in their constitution... and obama pulled out too soon.
Osama, a Saudi, engaged an operation where a team of Saudis (and an Egyptian or two) provoked the US into taking down the Saudis biggest enemy, Iraq.
It helped us to prosecute the war faster because they didn’t get the carriers, but in the end the result would have been the same. Our production abilities were amazing - and this is just carriers:
“In all, 143 aircraft carriers including conversions and the training carriers were completed prior to the end of WW2. Of these, 38 escort carriers were transferred to the RN.”

The main, and most important difference, is that the Pearl Harbor attack was from a government of a country. The 9/11 attacks, while all-but-officially-sanctioned, had no “official” government that could, and would, be retaliated against.
The 9/11 attacks were truly guerrilla, or asynchronous, warfare.
Whether or not aerial bombardment of cities was justified in WWII, it's harder to make the case that because a group of hijackers destroyed the Towers we should have flattened Fallujah.
