Top civil rights leaders are suing California for climate policies they say disproportionately harm its poorest residents, particularly Latinos and African Americans.
California politicians are using anti-racist and environmentalist words to hide the regressive impact of their climate policies on the poor and people of color, said John Gamboa, the co-founder of The Two Hundred, a coalition of prominent civil rights leaders, which filed a lawsuit against the California Air Resources Board (CARB) in Superior Court.
The lawsuit alleges that the most staggering, unlawful, and racist components of the [states climate policies] target new housing and are contributing to resegregation.
The suit claims CARB is in violation of the Fair Employment and Housing Act, the California Global Warming and Solutions Act, the California Clean Air Act, and other federal and state laws.
Californias climate policies guarantee that housing, transportation and electricity prices will continue to rise, the complaint notes, while gateway jobs to the middle class for those without college degrees, such as manufacturing and logistics, will continue to locate in other states.

reason number 104 way we are paralyzed in the US A court case against a bad idea.
The very people who proclaim the evils of gentrification are the same people who practice it.
Once again, projecting their “evils” onto others.
Minorities vote heavily for the democrat party.
They need a good Venezuela lesson on the consequences of their actions
Pretty fair example of a fustercluck right there, I'll betcha.
I just came back from a wedding in Aspen, Colorado.
Aspen is an uber-Liberal city in Colorado, and host many big Liberal political events every year.
Well, let me tell you it is one of the “whitest” very well known cities in the U.S. I have been in.
When the groom picked me up at the airport, he commented that it seemed like our wedding party was “bringing all the color to town”. I think there really were more “people of color” in our wedding party of 30 people than we saw anywhere in town.
Liberals are REALLY people who speak with “forked tongue”. Their words say one thing but the actions they take to back up those words have affects that are often the opposite of what they claim are their intentions. No one is that stupid.
I believe in leap frog development and then you come back in a decade and fill in gaps and revise your community plan based on the impact of the first development.
Sounds like LEFT wing cannibalism to me. Win/Win.
Victim Machine vs. Enviroloons. Sounds like a Japanese monster film.
“Dewpoint Descrimination”
I don’t believe in “community planning” at all. You got a piece of land, build what you want.
In any rational world, this lawsuit would be absolutely devastating to California climate regulations:
1. Since the enactment of California’s laws, 43 other states, most of whom presumably do not have such laws, have done better in reducing their carbon emissions than California, and projections are for more of the same.
2. California’s climate regulations are making a host of other, more immediate problems like air pollution, poverty, homelessness and racial inequality significantly worse.
Well, you voted for it morons!
