We know that Halper and Fidsus worked for Western intelligence agencies. They were the ones suggesting to Papadopoulos that they had contacts with Russians who had the “goods” on Hillary. The whole thing was a set up.
In my opinion the real news is that he was sentenced to only 14 days in prison. Too me that says something about what the Judge thought of the entire case.
