The European Parliament has voted to pursue unprecedented disciplinary action against Hungary over alleged breaches of the EU's core values. Prime Minister Viktor Orban's government has been accused of attacks on the media, minorities, and the rule of law - charges which he denies. More than two-thirds of MEPs backed the censure motion - the first such vote against a member state under EU rules. If also approved by national leaders, Hungary could face punitive measures. The ultimate sanction, the suspension of Hungary's voting rights, is unlikely as Poland is likely to veto any such move

The EU is having a major sad because Hungary will not allow itself to be overrun by peaceful, knife-wielding "immigrants".

The bright spot here is that Poland stands with Hungary.

Poland,Hungary and the Czech Republic have vivid, recent, memories of oppression. Wouldn't it be a hoot if they all had their own “Brexit” referendum!

It’s time for Hungary and Poland to leave the EU. Trump may be able to blunt the EU’s impact with trade or business deals. The alliances are shifting anyway and Germany and France are no longer allies in reality.

A “core value” is to let one’s country be overrun by Muslim savages. Bravo for Hungary. I wish the US would do the same.

The Yurp Parliament is toothless. The Comission which is appointed by national governments decides everything.

Eastern Europe needs to get out while they can.

Being in NATO is one thing.

This EU nonsense is an Orwellian witches brew.

The EU should be thanking Hungary and following their example in refusing to let in the hordes of Muslims, many of whom are terrorists and they come to conquer Europe, not to fit in.

EU must have a death-wish.

A lack of core values? Whose core values is the EU talking about? The Poles, Hungarians, Slavs, Czechs etc... have, for centuries been looked upon by the elitists of European aristocracy as the scum of the Earth. They became fiercely independent because of it. And I don’t think they really give a hoot and a holler what the “Old Guard” of Europe really thinks of them, because they were able to work themselves out of a multitude of dire circumstances all by themselves, no matter where or who was cast upon them to rule.

IMHO, its part of the urgent reason why Russia must be neutered and dismantled.

You can’t have a strong, pro-native language, pro-borders, pro-native culture nation, in opposition, sitting on the borders of Europe.

Poland and Hungary are on the right side of History. They have a right to defend their cultures from Germany’s thuggy calls.

How many times does Germany have to bring the world to the brink of destruction before people catch on?

You hit the nail on the head with that picture.

President Orban understands the problem and took action.
