No matter what the advisory group has to say, Crockett, Travis and Bowie will always be true heroes in the hearts of those who love America. REMEMBER THE ALAMO!!
Without remembering the Alamo and its heroes, Texas isn’t Texas!!!!
That advisory group can go straight to hell.
Even considering a reduction in the honor paid to these folks, it insulting beyond belief.
Who died and made them revisionists extraordinaire?
I haven’t heard Geo. P’s position on this Alamo “reimagining”. I guess that he’s all for it but keeping his mouth shut ‘til he sees which way the wind blows. Or until he gets his UN directive.
Amen to that!
I worked with a Mexican who told me they shouldn’t call the heroes of the Alamo heroes, blah, blah, blah. I had to work there so couldn’t mash his face into the wall. Not that a mild-mannered guy like me would do anything like that.
Maybe we should send people to all these countries and criticize them and tell them to topple their statues and re-word their history. Go to Mexico and tell them they are thieves and liars as my brother in law called them when his sister was in the Mexico City Philharmonic violin section for two years.
Tell Iran we want Christian and Jewish holidays observed for diversity and equality. Tell China they should establish racial quotas for diversity including hiring and promoting blacks there. China and Japan strongly discriminate against all who are not of their races. They also have extremely strong border enforcement. Also tell China: tear down that wall!!
What was your previous FReeper handle?
No one needs Texas’ permission to recognize and celebrate the Alamo.
Do it anyway, do it in their pussified statist faces, and tell ‘em to kiss yer proud @ss while you’re at it !
“:^)
Just point out that Santa Anna was such a corrupt POS the Mexicans themselves tried to kill him.
Also worth noting, probably 1/4 of the Texicans were native Mexicans who fled persecution of Mexico because they were Protestant or Jewish, which was legal in Texas, but illegal in Mexico.
That is, until Santa Anna wanted to bring the Mexican Inquisition north for his own political purposes.
It was a fight for religious freedom just as much as an effort to get out from the thumb of a brutal dictator.
Good question .
Let's Wrap This Baby Up, Folks!
“Rafael Cruz Jr.s kindred blood attacked the Alamo...?”
No, they didn’t-his paternal antecedents were from Cuba-not Mexico. My antecedents came to Texas from Mexico about 50 yrs before 1835-so some of my ancestors’ distant cousins attacked the Alamo while my direct ancestors fought on the Texas side-we’re pretty proud of that, and don’t want any of our heroes taken from the REAL history of Texas...
Hey liberals-don’t mess with Texas-it will bite you in the ass!
This is about what they are going to teach Texas children.
That they are even considering this, tells us the state of education in Texas. That’s not to dump on Texas either. It’s like that everywhere as they try to dismantle our nation.
Guess it’s pretty obvious that, in finest FR tradition, I didn’t read past the first paragraph.
Still, it was a rant worth ranting, doncha think ?
;-)
Of course.
Look, I do that often enough, so I’m not taking you to ask for it. LOL
