I well know that FR has a large denizen of folks who seemingly cannot get over the direct political implications of each and every story. They invest so much emotion into their chosen belief system that they cannot grasp or consider what others may or may not think.
I highly recommend studying, or at least considering the proglib's viewpoint, in order to have a better understanding and deeper appreciation for libertarian/conservative ideals.
Rhetorical question: would it be wrong for a patriotic company to emphasize anti-Americanism as their chief marketing strategy? This would be the ultimate divorce of personal beliefs with the freedom to conduct commercial affairs that best address the consumer's wants, desires & needs.
Thanks for both, FrankR!
Fox business had the comment that this was derived based on email reciepts. Who is reading the emails?
This number is fake. (faker than a cnn poll)
Yes. For example it is the beginning of cross country season nationwide.,,just bought XC trainers and flats for my college and high school runners.
So Nike is just another greedy, capitalist destroyer of the earth on the backs of Chinese slave labor. Got it.
My ex boss posted on Facebook that he went out and bought a bunch of Nike gear to support Krapernic.
Cross country runners need new shoes every 300 Miles or sothat means new trainers constantlyall my teens run cross country and distance track (one in the NCAA); oh well, at least its a pretty cheap sport otherwise.
This is fake... they are comparing sales from Monday and Tuesday with Sunday sales before the ad... Sunday is always a bad day in e-commerce compared to mid-week .... they didnt mention the numbers compared to last week... I wonder why. Like you said ... only time will tell the real story.
Yes, Liz McDonald (Fox Business Varney) said that she doesn’t trust these numbers and questions the method they used to come to this conclusion.
This is exactly what I posted here when the controversy began... corps aren’t stupid, they know exactly who their customer base is. If you’re trying to sell to the people who have the most money to spend... you’re looking at a blue state. Now their customer base is going to flock to buy Nike, because it stands for a cause.
Sorry, but this was a brilliant branding exercise
however, eventually, the effect of their idiocy will be evident...
orders for lots of colleges have been sent out weeks/months ago...of course nike will show an increase...
but if firemen, policemen ,military, conservatives, patriots etc and their families would just stop buying, the jig would be up very very soon....
but its so "hard" to carry out ones ideals, I guess.
For the first couple of weeks, maybe. The counterprotest purchase. It will fade. The boycott will stick around.
I have been reading that Nike sales are up 31% for 2 days now and I don’t buy it.
Colin Kaeperni k wasnt a sta yet.
He set no records.
He wasnt a prodigy.
His only claim to fame was starting a protest at the NFL.
Since his protest NFL ratings have gone DOWN.
They are still collapsing to this day.
So Nike hides him to be their face and shoe sales go.....up?
And Nikes stock price goes.....up?
That doesnt make sense.
So if anime was scaling more shoes in China and India and it was offsetting falling sales in the US - thats not a success.
If George Soros decides to buy up all outstanding Nike stock, thats not a success
Yeah, theres some kind of hustle going on here.
But if you want to buy Nike stock, go for it.
