Defense of the nation from foreign invasion.
Border security is NATIONAL SECURITY.
Army Corp of Engineers,,,
They built most of what passes for a wall
Here In San Diego.
Raytheon, ,
Did not know that.
What does shutting down the govt. have to do with tasking the military building the wall? The Army Corps of Engineers built thousands of bridges and airfields during WWII.
Talk about building a wall needs to be replaced by action.
Heck, troops should be down there now to secure while the wall goes up.
DHS consists of a bunch of fancy cops. The Army Corps of Engineers run big machines building stuff like bridges, dams, and airfields anywhere in the world. Ever wonder where the allies airfields, roads, bridges... came from during WWII, Korea, Vietnam?

Nothing wrong with a C-130. They are well-ventilated, and you don't have to worry about the person next to you talking your head off the whole flight.
You forgot the minefields.
I served with the 79th ECB(H) in Karlsruhe Germany and the 84th ECB(H) at Schofield Barrack HI if anyone is interested”
I also served in the 79th.It has been deactivated about 40 years ago. It would take just a few months using available USA Combat Heavy Engineer Battalions. Maybe the Navy SEEBEEs could also participate
There’s plenty of US military personnel in Germany doing nothing.
YES! Army Corps of Engineers. Find the areas with the boldest border breaches and start it right there.
Thank You for your service, but I was in the 79th from 1987 to 1990. They left Gerzewski Barracks in 1992 but do not know when the entire unit was deactivated. That is less than the 40 years that you stated.
To further clarify,I was the Procurement NCO for the Range 23 project in Wildflicken from Jan 1990 until May 1990. I know what I am talking about.
The military can do stuff faster than any contractor or government puke could dream of doing.
Will Mexico be pay our military in pesos or dollars to build the wall?
If you’re serious, I suspect that would reduce public acceptance among swing voters. If you’re joking and think concertina wire is going too far, I disagree. We use barbed wire for farmland/ranchland. Concertina wire is not much different. Most people would be okay with this passive defense. The whole point is that it can be put in place quickly and it discourages most people from crossing without inflicting serious injury on anyone who is not both exceptionally stupid and unlucky.
