President Trump May Use Military to Build Border Wall

In an interview published Friday, President Donald Trump revealed he is mulling plans to use the military to build a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border. Traveling from Billings, Montana to Fargo, North Dakota aboard Air Force One, President Trump told the Daily Mail he possesses “two options,” when it comes to building the border wall: “We have military, we have homeland security,” he said.

Of the two, the president said he prefers Congress approve the approximately $25 billion in spending that he’s seeking for the wall and have Department of Homeland Security undertake the project. “Politically speaking, I’d rather get it through Congress. If we don’t, I’m looking at that option very seriously,” he said.

“The possibility of diverting Pentagon funding and assets to build a border wall is a hole card the president is holding but has never directly acknowledged before. Two Defense Department officials told DailyMail.com in August that the Army Corps of Engineers could take on the task,” writes reporter David Martosko.

If the President has the option and the Congress doesn’t come thru then he should shut it down and give the order to the Army Corp of engineers to build the Wall. The majority of folks will get behind a shutdown if he builds that effin wall.

Corps of Engineers.

There are some aspects of this I like better.

I’d like to see the US Army conduct a training exercise - laying 2,000 miles of triple strand concertina wire along our border, bulldozing a dirt road for military units to patrol the wire, and laying another triple strand barrier on the other side of that road. It’s a real-world chance to practice what we might need to do to protect our country against invasion. Even the most arrogant far-left globalist judge would probably be too slow to stop our military, at least if the US Army is good at their job.

I meant I like the ACOE option better than DHS.

What is truly egregious is US defense contractor Raytheon refusing to bid on this project.
Two one thousand mile terrorist-proof walls for Saudi Arabia, one on the Iraqi border and one on the Yemeni border. They bid, I think, on a third wall for another country.
They have experience and proven track records building massive border walls that terrorists can’t drive trucks through and deter large swarms of refugees.
But they won’t bid on a similar project in their own country because THAT would somehow be wrong. Though it is THEIR country that needs it most.
They’re traitors and should lose federal contracts for this betrayal.

The Army should only be there to oversee the Mexican laborers working off the debt they owe us. They send their criminals, pregnant women giving birth to lifetime entitlement brats, psychotics from mental wards, illiterates who will never work, and others. They owe us big time for the extra policing we have to do and the civil unrest caused by gangs and aliens who rape and kill and rob all over America.

We should treat Mexicans as enemies.

Perhaps another reason ....
With hundreds of millions of existing contracts , why take a risky political move for a 25 billion contract?

Oh bull. No company should be punished for not bidding a project any more than an individual should be punished for not buying insurance.

Raytheon is too big a target (buildings, people, plants) in the US for the SJW activists, their executives think. The executives don’t want to take on this controversy.

I used to be a supply sergeant for two Engineer units who could build almost anything. The Army Corps of Engineers is mostly civilian. Use the military Engineer Battalions instead with contractor and Army Corps of Engineers support. It will get built. The funding would come from the training and operational budget of the Engineer Battalions.

I served with the 79th ECB(H) in Karlsruhe Germany and the 84th ECB(H) at Schofield Barrack HI if anyone is interested.

Actually, the company is infected with social justice, something only made worse by Obama era rules that gave preference for federal contracts if you met various far-left nonprofit’s checklists.

They mandated diversity training that outright bashed white guys and systematically discriminated against people based on demographics in order to move up in competition for contracts with Lockheed Martin and Northrup Grumman. Then they took it further, because liberal bullies dominated top leadership.

They CHOSE to refuse to bid because liberal politics are considered more important than than the good of the nation. They drifted left for years but went HARD left under Obama.

Hence their willingness to build the virtual border fence 2004-2006 but not the real one in 2018.

Even the most arrogant far-left globalist judge would probably be too slow to stop our military,

Especially if the Air Force branch provides midnight transfers of those judges to our tropical military run resort in Gitmo. Make it a C-130 so they can begin experiencing discomfort right from the start.
