The name may also be due to the fact that Spain was ruled by the muslim moors for 200 years. In that time many muslim names came into common usage in the region. When the Spanish colonized the Americas they brought those names with them.

We must go to California's Election Commission as they determined very...very... quickly that none of the 20,000 illegal registered drivers issued motor-voter cards that none...NONE were "undocumented immigrants"
