On a week when Brett Kavanaugh's Supreme Court confirmation or Bob Woodward's book were seen ahead of time as the two big stories that would consume media coverage, along came an anonymous source, a senior administration official, to the New York Times with a scathing op-ed on President Trump that has Washington and the press (again) aflutter with talk of this being THE moment that changes everything.
Let's first unpack who, at least in general terms, the source of the column is ... a column that includes describing the presidents leadership style as "impetuous, adversarial, petty and ineffective," among other things that come right out of a Michael Moore script.

The Swamp and the Deep State.
Take your pick.
Maybe Lanny Davis blowing more smoke to cover up for Hillary.
Was it ‘senor’ o ficiale from meh-eek-Oh?
Maybe Comey is lonely.
This smells like a walk back.
“Senior Official” doesn’t mean that it was written outside of the NYT newsroom.
Many of the former appointed officials of he Obama regime got themselves declared to be “government service” civil servants, and therefore not on the list to be replaced as new appointments are made (a process, by the way, that is being “slow walked” by Democrats in the Senate).
This cabal of holdovers may have been formed into a consortium that was the actual collective author of this screed, as it does not appear to be the work of only one mind.
Its Coats. You know its a republican because he is so concerned about tariffs and free trade and Conservative values. This guy is a conservative politician. He also does not like the democrats. So its a republican. Also, he talks about Trumps foreign policy and specifically his policy towards Russia. So I am thinking its in the spook squad. Coats is a politician in the spook squad as well as Pompeo. I am hoping its not Pompeo, because Trump likes and trusts Pompeo. So that leaves Coats. This person is also someone who meets with Trump at least weekly. Coats sits in on intelligence briefings with Trump. Coats again works.
This Op-ed is all about making Bob Wooden head’s book more truthful. However most of the book is full of lies..
Gary Cohn
Don’t really care that Trump is a NY prick, that’s why i voted for him; and i expected everything he has done.
That was one of my thoughts - Comey/Brennan/Clapper/Strzok - the NYT would have no problem stretching the lie about “a senior official”...
Bureaucrats don’t use the term “Senior Official.” That is a reporter’s term.
