Nah, Booker’s leak had something to do with police profiling.

Probably. No law is “settled” law anymore in the American legal system.

2003 Kavanaugh was correct, incidentally, just as a matter of fact.

Isn’t it ironic and hypocritical of Dems to insist on a “living, breathing, malleable Constitution” that can be changed on any whim on the one hand, but insist that some laws must be “settled and immutable forevermore” on the other hand.

Maybe someday a Republican will call them out on their sheer hypocrisy.

Nothing wrong with his speculation in the email. It is common legal practice to question rulings and to muse about their ramifications.

Also, what bill was signed into law that legalized abortion?

Roe v. Wade is a long-standing precedent, and long-standing precedents should not be lightly or often disturbed. But Plessy v. Ferguson stood longer than Roe has stood, and it was overturned by Brown v. Board of Education.

Good grief. This is complete fake news/spin from The Hill. And the left wonders why they are perceived as biased?
Read the article. He didn’t say Roe wasn’t settled law, he questioned whether it was accurate to say that “all legal scholars refer to Roe as the settled law of the land at the Supreme Court level since Court can always overrule its precedent, and three current Justices on the Court would do so.” It says nothing about K’s opinion of the case, just whether an assertion about how all legal scholars felt was accurate.

And up until about a second ago it was settled law that a marriage was between a man and a woman. Obama told me so.

All law is “settled” - except for laws liberals don’t like- like laws guaranteeing your right to bear arms.

But your ‘right’ to abortion? That’s settled.

So Booker would like the 19th century SCOTUS ruling about Jim Crow to be reinstated?

I thought the law, like the Constitution, is a living fluid changing thing. At least that’s what the leftists always say.

Here today; gone to Maui.

I don’t even understand the term “settled law” since anything that is done can be undone.

Political wisdom all these years is for R politicians to try to stay away from the abortion issue, it would do my heart good if we did an about face and refused to appoint people that in any way support abortion. I am sick of the left making this a deal breaker and we try to avoid it like the elephant in the room.

Of course I am no political expert by any means but the left supports their issues all the way with no backing up and so many times we act embarrassed to be straight forward about our issues.
