In a historic victory, Boston City Councilor Ayanna Pressley unseated Rep. Mike Capuano, a progressive Congressional favorite first elected in 1998 in Massachusetts' seventh congressional district. Capuano took the stage shortly after 9:15 p.m. and conceded the race.
"I'm sorry it didn't work out, but this is life," Capuano told supporters. "This is OK. America is going to be OK. Ayanna Pressley is going to be a good congresswoman, and Massachusetts will be well served. "This is not the side we wanted to be on," he added. "Clearly the district wanted a lot of changes."
Pressley, 44, mounted a surprising campaign against Capuano that led to one of the most-watched primaries in the nation. She won the seat that represents parts of Boston, Cambridge, Milton and all of Chelsea, Everett, Randolph and Somerville.
She runs unopposed in November, and will be the first person of color Massachusetts sends to the United State House of Representatives.

And this is just one more reason for them to be doing so. Every day is another needle in their side. They’re the ultimate voodoo doll, this is great. May they continue to develop ulcers and stress-headaches. It’s a good bet that they’re drinking a lot these days, I’m sure that contributes to their wackiness on TV.
The demographics in the district are so lopsided Republicans don’t bother with even token opposition.

I know but they are just insane. They will never win a general, competitive election.
In fact, if you go back to 2006, the only reason the GOP lost the Senate that year was the DemoKKKrats ran a raft of vets and tried to “butch up.” Only Webb won, but every vet in the primary won. It helped staunch the bleeding of them being “anti-American” in their war rhetoric.
Why is she unopposed? At LEAST put a name on the ballot, so there can be a choice.
