“She had a felony conviction on her record from earlier that year.”

If she was turning her life around, now had a HUSBAND and a baby on the way, and she was in jeopardy of her life and the life of her baby, I’d give her a pass.

I mean, this works for Black Lives Matter, does it not? Shouldn’t FORGIVENESS be across the board?

You can’t have it both ways, though Libs are FAMOUS for their double standards.

P.S. If it turns out she was a Trump Voter, then...The Death Penalty.

So for defending herself, her household and her baby from an intruding criminal she’ll spend a quarter of a century in prison?

Put me on that jury. Acquittal or mistrial. Hope the prosecutor runs into a thug.

My preference on firearms would be that children would have access as decided by their parents. People in prison, jail, probation, or parole would have no firearms, and otherwise their possession would be almost unrestricted except in a few government buildings. Why not restore the God-given human rights of felons who have served their time?

If the article is accurate, this is such a bs. Under that circumstance, she had to defend herself and her husband against home intruder

If the State can ban one of God's own plants, then its power is effectively limitless. Essentially, anything can be banned if Congress or a designated bureaucrat so decides, whether based on the support of a vocal majority or not. This is one reason why the Founders rejected Democracy, because Democracy boils down to two wolves and a sheep deciding what's for dinner.

Don't forget that when it was originally released, the film Reefer Madness was intended to be taken seriously—and it was by much of the People. Indeed, we're still dealing with the legacy of that hysterical propaganda even today...

The article says, "one of her husband's guns".

So she's charged with possession for the short time it took her to pick up a gun and defend her own life?

This was in her home, it’s not as if she were carrying illegally.

This was clearly self defense. She should be praised for having the presence of mind to kill the intruder, otherwise we might be reading about a dead woman found after the intruder killed her.

A couple of bags of herbs and she lost the right to defend herself?

Ridiculous.

Pot will be legal nationwide before Trump leaves office.

Under Doctrine of Necessity, she should be acquitted. Really, the judge should dismiss without trial.

When you’re pregnant and fending off an obviously stronger male attacker, WTF are you SUPPOSED to use, a fly-swatter?

Felon I possession laws are, I’M HOME, anathema to the 2nd Amendment. If you are too dangerous to own/possess/use a weapon outside of prison, then you’re also too dangerous to be released (or given a suspended sentence). But if you’re out, then your 2nd Amendment rights should be the same as everyone else’s.

Don’t even get me started on what the Founders would think of this utter Custer flucked situation - just the idea that a pregnant woman couldn’t protect herself by any and all means would have started the Revolution, if the Limeys hadn’t first tried to grab a bunch of guns.

Thank God Federal Laws passed by Congress OVERRIDE the US Constitution, otherwise this would NOT be possible.

The issue is that there were guns in the apartment, not that she picked one up to defend herself.

I would guess that it is a condition of her suspended sentence that she have no access to firearms including someone else's in the abode.

Curious that no one claimed the weed to keep the others from being unjustly convicted unless, of course, they were all guilty.

Also curios that they didn't mention the amount.

Prosecutors like this are why the faith in and respect for the rule of law is dying out.

Just another in the many reasons why it we are coming up on the season of raining pain.
