After all these years, seeing other folks posting hurricane threads seems, I dunno, blasphemous or something   ;-)

Note: Florida radar map link above...disregard "Alberto" in the overlay description. It is a great radar map with current storm track overlay.

Gordon looks like it will not get bigger than tropical storm level when it hits. In the meanwhile, it will soak up a bunch of heat energy from the Gulf, weakening the potential of later storms to develop into hurricanes.

Florence does not look like it will develop to anything bigger than tropical storm.

It’s looking like the Atlantic and Gulf are cooler than average this year, as we approach peak season. What do you think?

Thanks Nauti. We are saturated already here in panhandle after weeks of what my dad always called dog days. Praying it dies out in the gulf.

I still to this day have vivid memories and nightmares of TS Allison in 2001 in the greater Houston area. 4 feet throughout the house and 80% destruction of my home in my neighborhood in Aldine, TX.

Windy.com has an interesting take on where Florence will be by the middle of next week. Florence may want be heading for Florence (SC). Restart the 10-day forecast (it does adjust as the week goes on). If she doesn't shear, she may be of some concern...

Did the storm get close enough to SW FL to help/hurt the algae/Red Tide issues?
