By the way, I saw part of a documentary on PBS's "Frontline" show last night and from the little I watched they really hung all his dirty laundry right out there for everyone to see!!!

Can anyone explain how a pilot who crashed a number of fighter jets & crashed on an aircraft carrier, killing dozens of sailors & causing dozens of fighter jets to be pushed overboard due to burning debris can be called a hero?

He didn’t. He’s most likely referring to the Forrestal fire which McCain had nothing to do with other than being there when it happened. It’s become an urban legend that he caused it but it’s not true.
I wish people would quit repeating it as fact. I’m not a McCain fan but repeating falsehoods is petty and serves no purpose other than slander him.
