IIRC, there was a transplanted dog head (two-headed dog), and a “reanimated” dog head, the one I posted, both Russian videos.

I don’t know of any others, sorry.

No 2019 Pet Sematary remake for you?

Fred Gwynn was the only reason I watched the first first one — once.

Ever wonder why Jesus did not respond to Mary and Martha’s plea for Him to come and heal Lazarus (Eleazar)? Bethany was less than a day’s journey, yet He chose to wait two more days, arriving on the fourth day.

The Israelites had a belief that the spirit of a dead person lingers for 3 days after they ‘die’, so it would not have been viewed as such a ‘miracle’ if Jesus had immediately gone to Bethany and raised Laxarus. Raising him on the fourth day DID qualify as a miracle. Not just resurrecting a 4 day dea, purifying body, but by the fourth day, Lazarus’ soul had also departed. Bringing the rotten flesh and departed soul back to life was a miracle!

There is nothing that is as dead as a dead body.

Trust me on this one.

Whatever happened with the doctor who was going to transplant that guy’s head onto a new donor body?

Definitely not. Death is defined as that from which there is no recovery. If recovery occurs, then the person was NOT DEAD! Death is binary. Either or. Apparent death is not death. Clinical death is not necessarily death.

A practical definition of death is "the brain cells have decayed to the point of no longer being functional".

A person undergoing heart surgery can be "dead" (in the sense of heart not beating) for hours, and then be brought back.

The Rehabilitation of Professor Alcazar”. Anyone remember that from C.S. Lewis’s masterpiece, “That Hideous Strength?”

This is an interesting concept. Once could almost envision paramedics removing blood and introducing this saline mixture in the field or in route to the hospital, in order to put folks into suspended animation until they could get critical care in a surgical suite.

I don’t see this as cheating death, or defying God’s will or some such. It’s simply another medical tool that would be implemented to rescue folks.

We take interventions in all sorts of ways today, to keep people from dying that otherwise would have.

They did this procedure on an old episode of “House” just a few days ago. Reminds me of the movie “Reanimator”. He doesn’t use salt solution. He simply injects subjects with neon green goo. Cult classic!

Funny. Rich guy dies and is put in suspended animation. Heirs get all the money and spend it all frivolously. Rich guy is woken up 100 years into the future when money is no longer used due to technology advances. He’s broke and completely out of his element with no idea what to do with himself.

Thanks but I think when it’s my time I’ll just go out like the circle of life demands. Nature doesn’t like it when it’s cheated.

He’s broke and completely out of his element with no idea what to do with himself.

How about the "Sleeper" movie with Woody Allen? Health-food seller awakens in the future and is told raw steak and cigarette smoking are the best things for your health. Suspended animation never works out the way people think it should. When it's time to go, one should go.

Lisa: Dad, we did something very bad!

Homer: Did you wreck the car?

Bart: No.

Homer: Did you raise the dead?

Lisa: Yes.

Homer: But the car’s okay?

Lisa, Bart: Uh-huh.

Homer: All right then.
