Three Central Valley elected officials have added their names to a petition urging Gov. Jerry Brown to end oil and gas production in California a move that, if successful, would heavily impact Kern's economy and county property tax revenues...........

Trump’s in charge. Not Moonbeam.
We need energy.
Cutoff all unnatural water flows from the Owens valley, Hetch Hetchy and the Oroville Dam.
You sound like an environmental whacko.
Hey, while you’re at it, shut down all farms, we don’t want all those chemicals. And power plants—too much carbon dioxide. And about those pesky gas guzzling cars, make them illegal too, it only fits if we’re closing down oil production. Liberals really are mental cases.
These people are nuts. They are demented.
Shut down oil production?
Many may not realize, but California has a major oil industry. It’s among the top oil producing states.
So to make a half assed political statement about global warming, they want to shut down a major industry which employs thousands, and pays many millions into the perpetually broke financially challenged state of California coffers. Yep, sounds like a great plan.
Sarcasm.
Maybe the oil companies could cut off gas to California..
There should be a surcharge for all gasoline sent to CA. Same with electric power produced out of state. That includes the Hoover Dam.
Just like Venezuela.
No one travels the 33 or other roads that through the oil fields.
The Midway-Sunset oil field near Taft is the states most productive. Kern produces up to 75 percent of Californias in-state oil. (Californian file)
Make sure you ban all imports to the state of those nasty oil products too.
Yes. They’re all communists and demagogues.
In November, citizens, illegals and the dead get to vote for either the Obama malaise or MAGA.
I was just there last week.
It’s an Alinskyian tactic to hold the opposition to live by their own rules and beliefs.
Besides Calif. is largely lost in the LA Basin and SF Bay Area. Cutting off water to the central valley would help to starve them out. Agenda 21 writ large.
Ban that EVIL electricity produced out of state too.
Yeah. I like driving down the 33, through oil alley or the petroleum highway.
I never knew the oil industry was there and so large until I drove down the 33 because the 5 was so congested.
When I was a lad, more than a half century ago, Signal Hill, near Long Beach, was nothing but oil wells. A forrest of oil derricks. It bothered my mom that gas was always a lot cheaper in Missouri, than California.
But we knew that.
