If you read the article, you’d have found that federal election law allows ANY person to file a complaint with the FEC. If the FEC fails to take action, then that same person can petition in US District Court to force the FEC to act. As of now, the FEC has 120 days to decide to act (it needs 4 commissioners out of 6 to approve...and there are only 4 now because the Dems have conveniently failed to nominate their 1 of the final 2). If the time passes without action (that’d be around the middle to end of December), then expect a filing in federal court.

BTW, the linked article also referenced a 2014 case decided at the Supreme Court level that specifically stated that the type of activity alleged in this case was illegal. So all that is necessary is for evidence to be provided (and there are apparently 20 Excel spreadsheets worth), and the case will proceed.

I believe that this has legs...but I wish that it had been filed several months ago so that we’d be at the District Court level by now. I guess that the evidence was so voluminous that it took until now....
