Cardinal Joseph Tobin, the archbishop of Newark, New Jersey, has told priests under his leadership he has no knowledge of a “gay subculture” in his archdiocese and has instructed them not to speak to media about sexual misconduct.
“[N]o one – including the anonymous ‘sources’ cited in the article – has ever spoken to me about a gay subculture in the Archdiocese of Newark,” Tobin reportedly wrote to priests of his diocese on August 17, according to a report by Catholic News Agency (CNA).
Tobin also reportedly encouraged the priests to refer media inquiries to the archdiocesan director of communications.

Well, I guess he’s right. After all, it can’t be a subculture in places where it is the primary culture.
When he shuts up his priests you know he’s up to no good.

Yep. An investigation of him would probably be a good idea.
And he is wrong.
Tobin is a lair or in denial. Suspect the first.
From what I’ve heard from my brother-in-law (who left the seminary a good many years back because it was a homosexual haven), read in the news, the headline is wrong. It’s not a sub culture. It’s a culture.
And the many good priests out there (methinks they are still a majority - but for how long?) are sick of the sickies.
And yup, we’re talking sickies. Homosexual is not necessarily sick, but boinking boys certainly is. Heck, if they want do to that they can always become Muslim.
Instructing employees to direct media calls to the Comm folks is not unusual. I would suggest that happens where everyone on the thread works.
And I despise these priests. But this part is not a story.

In some seminaries I have read that homosexuality is the dominant culture and heterosexuals are harassed in to leaving.
But it is definitely a defect. Does nothing to follow God's command - "Go forth and multiply"
Interesting that the article contains many quotes but qualifies the money shot every time - “reportedly.” If, in fact he did instruct his priests not to talk publicly, that is serious and he should be pressured in whatever way possible (perhaps Francis, in his zeal to stamp out clericalism, will throw his weight behind transparency). It’s troubling - and unfortunately kind of typical of Breitbart stories - that the headline isn’t supported by the story.
It is certainly sinful biblically, in Church doctrine, and in Canon Law. Unrepentant sinners of any stripe do not belong in the priesthood of the Church!
