For self defense, the Ruger LCP makes an excellent pistol that is very easy to conceal. Its compact size makes it comfortable enough to hide under a waistband or at an ankle or easy enough to stow away in a glove compartment or purse. However, many needs for self defense arise during the night, so having a good laser installed can make the difference between life or death. Weve compiled this review of the best Ruger LCP lasers we could find on the market, and well let you know what our top choice is for most gunowners. Surprisingly, there is not a large amount of options when it comes to Ruger LCP lasers. There is, however, just enough to require our services to sift through the products that arent worth your time. The laser we have selected have a variety of prices, so whether youre on a tight budget or youre ready to splurge, we should have an option listed for you.
LaserLyte Sight Trainer for Ruger
LaserLyte Sight Trainer for Ruger Materials The LaserLyte Sight Trainer for Ruger LCPs is a unique and low cost alternative for practicing your accuracy skills at home. The durable housing comes as a kit with two pieces to ensure it fits to your Ruger with no problems. The installation process involves a small amount of tooling, and the kit comes with instructions and the screws required. The laser is red, and it has three functions: constant on, pulse, and training mode. The training mode is one-of-a-kind, and it shows a solid dot or a streak by sound activation to signify good accuracy or bad technique, respectively. To save battery life, the laser will automatically turn off after six minutes of inactivity.
Performance The LaserLyte Sight Trainer for Ruger was selected by us because its a decent and unique product that will satisfy those who are on a tight budget. Will say now, though, that if you can afford to spend more money on a different laser, then you should. The good qualities of this sight trainer laser are its three different settings and its easy installation process. The training mode is a nice bonus to help you enhance your target practice without having to drive to a range. Thats money being saved in your pocket. Installing this laser is very easy, but just make sure to take your time with the directions for the smoothest process. As a forewarning, this product has been known to arrive faulty or damaged on occasion, so be careful. However, it will do for somebody who cant spend more than $60 on a laser.
What we say The LaserLyte Sight Trainer for Ruger costs a little under $60 online, making it the cheapest option within this review. Its very affordable for a laser, and it meets basic needs.
Pros Lowest cost Three modes, including training mode Automatic shutoff Cons Cheap materials, may be faulty
LaserMax Centerfire Frame Mounted Red Laser Sight for Ruger LCP
LaserMax Centerfire Frame Mounted Red Laser Sight for Ruger LCP Materials The LaserMax Centerfire Frame Mounted Red Laser Sight for Ruger LCP is designed with tough nylon housing in all black. This laser installs directly under your Ruger LCPs bore to give the maximum sight radius from a compact pistol. It can be programmed between a constant on function and a pulsated beam, which will automatically turn off after ten minutes of inactivity to save battery life. The is a red laser that switches on and off easily by the simple tap of an ambidextrous button. The LaserMax Centerfire Frame Mounted Red Laser Sight for Ruger LCP takes a 1/3 N Lithium battery.
Performance The LaserMax Centerfire Frame Mounted Red Laser Sight for Ruger LCP definitely offers one of the best laser radiuses youll find on the market. The lasers housing extends as far as it can go without surpassing your Rugers barrel. We do like the ambidextrous button and the ability to switch between a constant on and a pulsated beam, but these are both fairly standard features for just about any laser. While this option doesnt have any particularly impressive features, it does work very well, and theres no warning here about receiving a faulty product. You can be much more confident that LaserMax will provide you with a well functioning and effective laser.
What we say The LaserMax Centerfire Frame Mounted Red Laser Sight for Ruger LCP costs just over $80. Although its not cheap, its far from expensive either.
Pros Long beam radius Wont break down on you Ambidextrous on/off switch Cons Nothing special or unique. Basic features.
Viridian Weapon Technologies Reactor 5 Green Laser Sight
Viridian Weapon Technologies Reactor 5 Green Laser Sight Materials The Viridian Weapon Technologies Reactor 5 Green Laser Sight is constructed of all black polymer housing, and its one of the most technologically advanced pistol lasers with the smallest frame. This laser comes with a special holster, which works in tandem to automatically turn on the laser every time your Ruger LCP is drawn and turn off when it is holstered. Theres no need for on/off switches or automatic turn offs to save battery. During daylight, the green laser can reach up to 100 yards. By night, it can reach up to two miles. The Veridian Weapon Technologies Reactor 5 Green Laser Sight takes a 1/3 N Lithium battery.
Performance The Veridian Weapon Technologies Reactor 5 Green Laser Sight takes us into a new category of lasers that automatically turn on and off, instead of relying on an automatic turn-off with inactive use. That may not seem very important, but it will save you loads of battery life over the years. Thankfully, it does come with the holster required for this feature to work, and it will also enhance your ability for quick target acquisition and firing. Shaving off a couple seconds could be a life saving feature. Our only complaint, in this case, is that you have to like the holster it comes with. For some gunowners, this can be a bit restricting and, ultimately, uncomfortable if you end up not liking the Viridian holster.
What we say The Veridian Weapon Technologies Reactor 5 Green Laser Sight costs just under $160. This is twice the amount of the previous option, but it includes a holster as well as battery saving technology.
Pros Instant on and off with Viridian holster Reaches up to two miles at night Very compact frame Cons Required holster can be restrictive
Crimson Trace Laserguard for Ruger LCP
Crimson Trace Laserguard for Ruger LCP Materials The Crimson Trace Laserguard for Ruger LCP is made of a combination of hard polymer and rubber in all black, and it easily attaches to your handguns trigger guard without any gunsmithing or professional installation required. The red beam will automatically turn on when your pistol is held at the ready and will automatically turn off when holstered or pointed down. The battery required is a 1/3 N Lithium battery, which will last up to four hours of continuous use. The laser can be adjusted by the user for windage and elevation, and it comes with a manufacturers warranty that lasts up to three years.
Performance The Crimson Trace Laserguard for Ruger LCP is similar to the Viridian Reactor 5 laser, in that it also turns on automatically with a specific movement. However, the Crimson Trace option does not require you to use a special holster and will instead simply turn on when you are aiming. We are huge fans of this, and we think most would prefer it over having to use a particular holster. Although it will take time to use four hours of battery life, we do wish it would last a little longer. However, you can expect to get a good beam radius and some of the quickest target acquisition possible.
What we say The Crimson trace Laserguard for Ruger LCP is going to cost you a little over $180. This price does not include a holster or any other accessory, but you can be confidant youre purchasing one of the best and most popular lasers for your Ruger LCP.
Pros Automatically turns on and off with hand movements Top of the line craftmanship Three year warranty Cons Most expensive option
Our Top Pick Our top pick for the best Ruger LCP laser goes to the LaserMax Centerfire Frame Mounted Red Laser Sight for Ruger LCP. Besides the mouthful of a name, this is a great laser that should cover everybodys needs without breaking the bank. In a perfect world, we would want every gunowner to have the Crimson Trace laser, but with a nearly $200 price tag, we understand thats out of reach for a lot of our readers. The LaserMax Centerfire may not turn on automatically, but it also doesnt limit you on the type of holster you need to use it, and it is a very reliable accessory to your compact handgun. It can be used ambidextrously, and it has all the same battery saving features you would expect from a laser. At under $100, you cant beat the LaserMax Centerfire Frame Mounted Red Laser Sight for your Ruger LCP.

Timely article, I just bought a Ruger LCP for $199 from Dunham’s Sports.
Crimson Trace here...
Been there done that, gave it away.
Best laser is no laser. Would you rather be looking at a dot, or through the sights are your target? Good luck doing both.
I found that when I was trying to use it, I just couldn’t concentrate on the sight picture like you’re supposed to, all I could see was that dang dot, and I ended up just holding it to the side, because the sights were just a distraction.
Gave it away shortly after that.
My sister-in-law bought a S&W Bodyguard .380 with a laser on it and she was at my house practicing in the back yard. I have a pistol and rifle range set up back there. I strongly suggested that she practice with just the iron sights most of the time and she said why, it has a laser. I said true it does but if you have to pull this pistol and engage a goblin quickly do you think he will give you time to turn the laser on? I said you may see the attack coming and have that luxury, but if you don’t and have to act quickly you want to hit your target without using the laser, so practice some with just iron sights. She hadn’t thought of that when the gun shop employee was taunting the greatness of the laser sight on the piece.
