The basis of the complainant's question lies in the speech Prime Minister Trudeau gave about immigration. He came out with an emotional statement about Canada welcoming all. This spurred on by anti Trump statements saying illegals were being persecuted in the USA. Then followed hundreds of persons weekly at the Quebec border from New York State.

The system is being overwhelmed re housing, medical, and other monies. The cost quickly rose and $146 million dollars appears to be an initial payment by the Federal Government promised. It appears not forthcoming.

The Prime Minister's reaction is one totally devoid of any rationale. Welcome all and then walk off into the sunset. Leaving the heavy lifting behind.

He’d probably still do very well in urban Montreal and also in the Outaouais region (Western Quebec, across the Ottawa River from where yours truly lives), but that sort of attitude could very well cost Justin seats in the Quebec City region, the Beauce (which is to the south of Quebec City and east of Montreal) and even parts of southwestern Quebec (bordering New York State) and rural parts of the Eastern Townships.
