Anybody can easily do web search to establish that some of the most common rumors are fake news.
Hogg was a student at the school. He isn't 25. He didn't already graduate from high school in California.
I'm not going to do your research for you. It's not hard to find the information.
But even on the face of it, it's absurd. There are three thousand students at the school. If Hogg didn't go to school there, somebody who was actually a student there would have snitched on him.
But nobody can "prove" that they didn't make a phone call to the killer ordering the rampage.
That's something the people making the charge have to prove.
Unless you can magically prove that you didn't make the call yourself.

It could just mean they're misinformed or not critical enough about what they hear or read.
