The Wiz is not even worth a look. It is a “ghettoized” version of The Wizard of Oz, in the lowest form of patronizing the entirely black cast.

The burning of Hidetora's castle was done in one take. No miniatures were used -- they constructed an actual wooden castle, to scale, set it on fire, and filmed in One. Take.
The scene of Hidetora descending the steps and passing through the assembled armies is... well... cinematic.
