“The situation room is a SCIF! “
From what others have said here the SCIF designation comes and goes. Sometimes the room is classified as SCIF and other times it’s just a conference room.
It doesn’t come and go, it remains a SCIF whether you choose to have classified meetings (or conferences!) in it or play tiddlywinks in it.
Every so many years SCIFs do have to be recertified & the standards of certification change as technology changes. I doubt if the WH has any problem being first on the list for recertification.
