In on-line forums, parents have been reporting that their children are experiencing what is described here as “rapid-onset gender dysphoria,” appearing for the first time during puberty or even after its completion. The onset of gender dysphoria seemed to occur in the context of belonging to a peer group where one, multiple, or even all of the friends have become gender dysphoric and transgender-identified during the same timeframe. Parents also report that their children exhibited an increase in social media/internet use prior to disclosure of a transgender identity. The purpose of this study was to document and explore these observations and describe the resulting presentation of gender dysphoria, which is inconsistent with existing research literature

Lonely boys with poor social skills see how girls are exalted in schools and decide they want to be one. What’s to understand?
It’s a fad. It’s different from previous teen fads, such as eating disorders and cutting, because much of society is treating “trans-ism” as an absolute good. Parents can’t do much about it. They are threatened by school administrators and other authorities if they insist their son is a boy or their daughter is a girl, when they child is saying otherwise.

People look for permission-giving behavior. If an elderly person goes out and robs a bank, there will be a rash of elderly people robbing banks. On a south Pacific Island a young boy and girl “in love” committed suicide. There was a sudden rash of child “couples” committing suicide. (Most young kids have no idea death is permanent.) Gender issues are one danger of our overly tolerant, anything-goes culture. Nobody even dares to show disapproval, the slightest display of which might have corrected the issue. Instead we must be “supportive” which is the opposite of what we should do for people who develop aberrant behaviors.
I’ve seen it happen in real life. It’s attention whoring. They each try to outdo the other.
Rapid onset demonic possession is more like it.
Group Think becomes Group Grope.
Parents permitting it to run unchecked are guilty of child abuse.

Porn is also going to play a role in this. Even if it’s a small role these kids have access to porn that simply wasn’t part of the equation even 10 years ago.
No other generation understands the exposure to porn. It’s mathematically explosive.
