If you no longer work for any Federal Agency, WHY THE EFF SHOULD YOU HAVE A CLEARANCE?
Mine only remained for about a half-year after I left the CDC. I'd have to re-apply for mine. Scowly McScowlFace has been out of the government for much more than a year.

Your clearance will be good until it expires. (6years TS, 10years secret) it's not revoked when you leave your job that requires it, it just goes 'inactive' until you need it or it expires.
Also, there's lots of reasons to have a clearance. Any consulting for incoming administration may require it. If you have a job in the defense industry, networking/cybersphere, or really any job that interacts with government, all have the potential to require clearances for some of the stuff you might do.
