Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman addressed Gaza residents via the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories Major General Kamil Abu Rokun's Facebook page via the Al Monaseq website.
"I distinguish between Hamas leadership and the ordinary residents of Gaza," Liberman wrote. "Therefore, I decided to open the Kerem Shalom crossing and extend the fishing area back to 9 miles, as a clear message to Gaza's residents: Quiet pays off and violence doesn't pay off. The residents of Gaza have something to gain when Israeli citizens enjoy quiet and security, and something to lose when the peace is disturbed.
"The people of Gaza must understand the State of Israel isn't the problem but the solution. The problem is the Hamas leadership that uses civilians as live ammunition and as human shields."
Sources say PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas is disrupting Egyptian efforts to broker a peace agreement with Gaza's ruling Hamas.
Security Cabinet member Education Minister Naftali Bennett announced the Jewish Home Party would oppose an agreement based on temporary calm, allowing Hamas to rearm...

Why is this old and unworkable concept used time and time again since 1993?
Old concept:
Appeal to Gaza residents with logic, calm, reason, carrot-stick approach, benefit packages, easing of sanctions, borders, fishing limits, movement, supplies.
Results since 1993:
First terror attacks, Kassam missiles, mortars, infiltrations, attack tunnels, riots, HAMAS naval commandos, RPVs and now incendiary balloons.
Israeli response:
Threats, bombardments of empty buildings, threats to take down kite fliers, threats of invasion, closing the borers, cutting off power, partially halting humanitarian aid, threats, tank fire, sniper fire, threats, threats, threats...capitulation.
HAMAS rewards: All across the board. So what if they lose people, they don;t care so...WHY APPEAL TO THE MISERABLE SLOB POPULATION WHO VOTED FOR HAMAS IN THE FIRST PLACE???????????????????
STOP appealing to the “masses”, start taking down HAMAS leaders and STOP negotiating with them. Kill the HAMAS leadership. If they are replaced, kill them too...
So the response to hundreds of rockets is expanding off shore boating limits? Yeah. That will snatch defeat from the jaws of HAMAS...
Now just a cotton pickin’ minit here. Let’s be fair. Jews were not evicted from Ghaza until 2005, and the missiles didn’t start flying in great numbers until Hamas finished slaughtering Fatah members and consolidated its power.
We must always be watchful for the Day of the Lord.
God Bless and thanks for posting this.
‘Pod.
Ease up the pressure = fires, missiles, bombs, attacking fence, attacking Keren Shalom supplies crossing, infiltration, burning crop fields, etc.
Look, right now there’s a ceasefire and a kibbutz’s field is on fire, right now...
Well, back to the drawing board for the 856th time...duh!
Were Jews “evicted”??
Weren’t there long lists of Israeli Generals who signed petitions PROMISING that no harm will come from an Israeli pullout?
“peace & security” for real..
The stampede that will engulf the billions of left behind folks when the Lord pulls the plug on this age will be catastrophic.
..................
They were pulled out, all right. They wanted to stay. The police and army came in in force, and not only forced the residents on trucks, but disinterred the corpses, too.
It was PM Sharon’s plan. Pulling out, uprooting and leaving greenhouses behind to savages did not work out did it? Wherever Jews pull out, terror ensues...
The true problem is the violence of Islam which threatens death to those who think freely and not “Islamically”.
+1
“Peace and Security” sounds very nice. From a completely-secular perspective.
If I didn’t know the Word of God, I might think it sounds good, too. A “two-state” solution and “peace in the Middle East”.
Until you learn it is associated with the rise of Antichrist.
Then, you see how we’re on our way to fulfilling Bible prophecy. Which will absolutely be fulfilled to the smallest detail.
