Mainstream media tries to 'rewrite history' to credit Obama for Trump accomplishments
The Washington Times ^ | Tuesday, August 14, 2018 | Jennifer Harper

ANALYSIS

Since President Trump took office, the economy is booming, according to such reliable sources as federal agencies, analysts and data from the private sector.

That may not be good enough for the press, however.

The news media is seeking to “rewrite history” to credit former President Barack Obama for this feat, says one major business publication.

“The stronger the economy gets under Trump, the more desperate his critics are to hand credit over to Obama. Even if that entails changing the past,” says an Investor’s Business Daily editorial. “A recent New York Times story says it all: ‘An economic upturn begun under Obama is now Trump’s to tout’.”

Things were not always thus.

“We seem to recall that the economy was stagnating in 2016 after the weakest recovery from a recession since the Great Depression,” the IBD editorial noted. “In fact, The New York Times itself described Obama’s economy this way in August 2016: ‘For three quarters in a row, the growth rate of the economy has hovered around a mere 1 percent,” the IBD editorial recalled. “In the last quarter of 2015 and the first quarter of 2016, the economy expanded at feeble annual rates of 0.9 percent and 0.8 percent, respectively.”

The editorial also cited similar coverage at CBS News.

Nuts or ignorant. Economics requires an understanding of basic math. Something that many Americans lack.

The Trump economy is SO GOOD even the Left-wing media has to admit it

The article referenced by the above recent thread contains two videos. The second video, referenced below, is a Tucker Carlson video where Obama sarcastically indicates in June of 2016 that Trump would need a “magic wand” to improve Obama’s economy.

Obama eating crow over Trump Carrier deal?

Patriots, please bear in mind that Pres. Trump is improving the economy regardless that an anti-Trump Congress left over from the lawless Obama Administration is obstructing him. So let’s see what Trump can do with the economy when patriots give him a state sovereignty-respecting, Trump-supporting Congress in the 2018 midterm elections.

Man, if we could have just had Oabama for a few more years just think where this economy would be now if this is what Trump could do after Obama jump starting it! /sarc.

Normally, the deeper the recession, the stronger the economy bounces back. But under Obama the economy did not bounce back from 2009 to 2012 is bounced along the bottom, hitting its all time low in late 2012. 2013 to 2016 the economy grew ... but slowly and inconsistently.

In short, Obama left a lot of recovery on the table. Obama could have done things without Congress, such as ease the excessive regulations. But he chose ideology over reality.

So Trump can thank Obama for leaving so much on the table for Trump to take advantage of.

Why have a discussion with them. “What’s past is past”. Obama separating alleged families is irrelevant to Trump doing the same, so Obama’s economic failures are also irrelevant.

Preacher

That reminded Me of a Baptist Preacher back in Arkansas. Every Sunday it’s the “if you drink alcohol then you’ll burn in hell” part of the Sermon. I worked at a Water Utility with a Guy that was on the VFD. One day the Preachers house had a fire. The VFD gets it put out and starts looking for the source. Well They found it, a Moonshine Still in the basement ! The Preacher was fired the next week.

Now back to rewriting History- didn’t the comieratlibs tell Us and Kids in Schrool (Rush ™️) that The US Started WWII by dropping the A-Bomb on Japan ?

“Liberals will not admit that tax cuts and lower regulation spur the economy, how can you even have a discussion with them?”

Liberals know full well that tax cuts and lower regulation spur the economy, but their goal is NOT to spur the economy.

Their goal is gaining political power by garnering the votes of the have-nots, by promising them socialist redistribution of wealth.

Wealth is redistributed through taxation and regulation - which is counter to economic growth, but they don’t care.

Any discussion of economic growth by liberals is a dishonest attempt to discredit capitalism and free enterprise. They understand what makes the economy tick - but their talking points do not reflect that understanding, - their talking points are aimed at deceiving their own constituency into thinking socialism works, in order to win their votes.
