While i agree there are pedophiles among the clergy. I wonder how they can say that 300+ boys were raped and the police did nothing. Are you saying that not one of these people, nor their parents went to the police? How is this possible? And do they have a similar report on public school teachers. In our area there was one priest who was said to be a pedophile. But we had 10 teachers who were arrested or lost their jobs for sexual contact or pornography involving students.
There was a family in my LCMS Lutheran church that left the Catholic church because their son was being abused. The concern on causing scandal was more than the concern on the soul of that boy and his family. They were threatened with excommunication if they reported the abuse.
They reported, and left. Later moved out the area, as all their former friends started to avoid them.
So I do believe that this could happen, and be covered up.
