I don't know how any GOP candidate can think they can pull off something like this. Even the smallest lie, the most minuscule mistake, will be scrutinized and magnified to make a mountain out of whatever molehill the DNC propaganda ministry can find.

I'll tell you: Do you see a bunch of Republican candidates/politicians out there calling her out publicly on her lies?

No, you don't. You see people like us, the voters, calling her out on it, you see the media, and you see Democrats.

I dunno. I think hubris may have something to do with it, along with an underestimation of things political, and how deep the dirt-diggers will go. "Republican candidates/politicians" are not the only persons she talks to.

For all we know, it could have been the product of opposition research done by her opponent, who has declined to comment on this affair.

Interesting that this relatively minor event has become nation headlines, too. It has garnered an inordinate amount of attention.

Dems, on the other hand, have no such worries, because their fellow travelers, be they politicians, supporters, "news" reporters, et al can be pretty much guaranteed to give them a free pass.
