SDF are not jihadis. They are run by a Kurdish group that is highly secular - often criticized as atheists. They are more like Marxist guerrillas, not at all like jihadis. Instead of oppressing women like jihadis do, the SDF puts women in charge of things, and fields large numbers of female fighters in regular military units (YPJ).
