I do not like President Trump insulting AG Sessions. Reality check....who the heck would the US Senate ever confirm to replace him? We’d end up with some swamp-thing hack being acting AG. I also fear that insulting AG Sessions could get Steve Miller off the Trump train. Without those two, I doubt Trump would be President.

“I also fear that insulting AG Sessions could get Steve Miller off the Trump train.”

I wouldn’t be surprised if Miller has been very disappointed by how his former mentor has shirked his responsibilities.

Trump should fire Sessions while Congress is on recess, then recess appoint someone with no ties to the DOJ or DC for that matter. Give him a one year mandate to clean out the stables and investigate the Hillary coverup. Then deal with a long term replacement.

“Reality check....who the heck would the US Senate ever confirm to replace him? We’d end up with some swamp-thing hack being acting AG.”

The Vacancies Reform Act of 1998.

“The little-known law allows the president to appoint acting heads of departments for up to 210 days when the incumbent resigns or is unable to perform his duties. In the case of the attorney general, there is a caveat: The candidate must be a Senate-confirmed official and cannot be asked to fill the position permanently.”

“In theory, Trump could look outside the Department of Justice for a successor to Sessions. However, his choices would be limited to the 50 or so of his appointees the Senate has so far confirmed.”

Ok, either this is really bad news, because we have a President talking/acting like he’s isolated/alone...or he’s playing a cat/mouse game.

No way is Trump so stupid as to signal his weakness, vulnerability?? This has got to be a ruse.

Please...

And how would that be any different from the craven little coward we have now?
