I have had a hunch all along that Kim isn’t really in charge. There are a bunch of Generals that surround him who have a lot to lose in NC gets rid of its’ Nukes.

I don’t know why anyone would ever want to believe him or pal around him—you are only going to get screwed in the end—but I will cut the President some slack perhaps in first positioning himself as being able to say to the World “Look, I tried peace with NK in good faith” before reverting to his pre-March 2018 pragmatic position of Maximum Pressure.
