There is more to the story. She was told that she had an expired visa and would be denied entry, and would have to buy a ticket to leave Dubai as her visa was invalid. She argued, then decided it was a good idea to try and record it, and was then detained. I would bet you dollars to donuts that the question of her consuming alcohol on the flight was based on her actions upon being told she had an expired visa and would be denied entry.

Whatever. I probably wouldn’t visit as a tourist. It is just a place to pass through if you have to go to or come from Afghanistan. A large percentage of the people who have been in or worked with the military in the past 30 years have been in some muslim country. Dubai is the nicest muslim country I have been in, by a long shot.
