Against the IRS ?
It's our money the IRS pays out, how does that punish the IRS a bit?
They'll just confiscate enough property to sell off for $3.5 million plus administrative costs.

In other news today, IRS requests Congress to increase it’s budget $3.5 million.
To: upchuck
The IRS agreed to pay $3.5 million of other peoples' money ...
Won't cost the actual miscreants a dime.

Yep, the taxpayer is footing the bill for this while the perps remain gainfully employed or are collecting their pensions. There is at least some recompense for the affected orgs, but that outcome only ensures that it will happen again.

"it was John McCain who suggested … the Tea Party should be bankrupted" Where is John McCain? Is he in hospice, or hospital, or at home?
It's sad to see that the days of the National Enquirer getting the scoop on dying celebrities appear to be over. I'd love to be standing in the grocery checkout line and see John McCain's emaciated, dying corpse emptily staring back at me from the magazine rack.

While I celebrate the win for the groups screwed over by Obama's IRS..., I loathe the fact that we "Taxpayers" pick up the tab for the group of thieves in Obama's administration (as usual)!

“Lois Lerner still collects a government pension.”
If you think $17K covers 10 years of litigation, I got news for you.
To: upchuck
Take it out of Lois’s and Barry’s Pensions.

I think McCain died somewhere around Memorial Day (May).
Cindy is writing these ‘opinions’ in John’s name.
Mr. Trump knows if McCain is still alive or not. Announcing now he has actually passed on, would result in a distracting power struggle among the RINO set.
It would result in unproductive grandstanding by people like Mitt Romney, eager to become
the next “Master Cylinder-RINO” figure.
Watch and see, a few weeks after the midterms, after all the electoral dust has settled and the articles have been
written. Only then, will John McCain be officially allowed to die and vanish as a way to effect voters.

Those responsible need to be going to jail. As others have pointed out, handing out more of the taxpayer’s money does not punish the guilty. A government bureaucrat who broke the law losing their pension and going to prison would send a valuable message not to ever do this again.

It's a meaningless award unless the money comes out of the pension's of the offenders. Otherwise, it's just another tax on We the People. I'd much rather see justice in the form of having their asses thrown in jail.
