Passport? I thought in the EU you didn’t need a passport. Are they shipping them to the U.S.?
Not so. The UK has never been part of the Schengen open-borders area. You need a passport to enter (but not leave) the UK, whether you’re coming from elsewhere in he EU or from outside the EU. If you’re travelling from Britain you need a passport to get into any other EU country except the Republic of Ireland, with which there’s a bilateral agreement predating the EU.
