I, too, have often wondered if there are more liberals seeking psychological help than conservatives, in general, even before the bogus “Trump syndrome.”
Perhaps the development of personal and religious values, rather than blaming others, is the basis of (conservative) and emotional good health.

Republicans gather the facts and then make decisions logically based upon those facts. If they see that it will work they will believe in it.
Democrats are emotional decision makers and thus they make a decision and then look for the facts to support their decision. They are blind to any facts that do not support the decision the made emotionally and fell in love with... “Love is blind.” They will attack any messenger who even asks a question, the answer which provides facts which refute their decision. The the Democrat philosophy is “I will see it only if I believe it.”

Not only did the Left think that after 8 years of Barack Obama that they had crushed conservatism, embedded Leftism into the government at all levels, planted and nourished the huge Obamacare bureaucracy, and weakened the material readiness and eroded the leadership in the military, they thought they were going to get eight more years to entrench those Leftist things and buttress the judiciary and Supreme Court with their own extreme leftist judges.
They completely thought they had things well in hand.
Then, in a single 24 hour period on November 8, 2016, like the British Army at Yorktown, "the world turn'd upside down" for them. They thought, arrogantly, the American political landscape was all theirs, then...she lost. Badly. And they lost to Donald Trump, a man in their view who was, an uncouth, uneducated, unstable, corrupt, inexperienced, stupid, and rash man. Even worse, he actually DID love his country, something that really sticks in their craw.

After being elected, Trump has had victory after victory, some very obvious, and some not so obvious (those were worse, the ones that only percolated into their consciousness over time, because their normal irrational defenses were unprepared to filter out that kind of truth for them!) and he may be able to replace up to three Supreme Court justices before the end of HIS FIRST TERM!
EVEN WORSE, the Republicans finally grew a pair, and began using their OWN rules that THEY implemented when they were in power (regarding a simple majority in the approval of judiciary picks that they were publicly and explicitly warned against with the advice "you won't be in power forever") to approve a record number of conservative judges as a way to undo the concerted effort by the Obama administration to poison that well FOREVER.
He publicly repudiated their global warming religion and withdrew from the Paris Climate Accord, on a GLOBAL stage in a Rose Garden speech characterized it as a "wealth redistribution scheme" which made their collective heads explode!
And the economy caught fire and is fueling a great economic engine, belying the Obama claim that the 'new normal' would be 1-2% GDP growth, impossible to consider otherwise, and in response to Trump's claim he would bring manufacturing jobs back to America with this classic quote (from Obama himself) directed at then candidate Trump:
“Well, how exactly are you going to do that? What exactly are you going to do? There’s no answer to it," Obama said. "He just says, 'Well, I’m going to negotiate a better deal.' Well, what, how exactly are you going to negotiate that? What magic wand do you have? And usually the answer is, he doesn’t have an answer.”
But the worst, the ABSOLUTE worst for them is the Obama Spying Scandal which is now composed of three major scandals:
ONE: The Information Laundering Scandal (to be used to set up Trump)
TWO: The Human Intelligence and Signal Intelligence Abuse Scandal
THREE: The Frame-up of Donald Trump
They had him cold (they thought). They HAD him. Trump was toast. He was going down. He was 100% going to be impeached. And now, this whole scheme to frame him and bring him down is going to completely backfire and immolate them and their party, and THEY did it to themselves.
Have you ever seen the Evandar Holyfield vs. Mike Tyson fight? Mike Tyson was so sure he was going to win. He thought he was the better fighter. He thought he was going to beat Holyfield handily. And as the fight went on and on, and he became more and more infuriated and frustrated, he began to resort to dirty tactics resulting in him losing absolute control of himself and biting off part of Evander Holyfield's ear.
That, in a nutshell, is a microcosm of the Left today. Trump and Conservatives are Evander Holyfield. The Leftist Media, political machine, and The Swamp, are Mike Tyson.

I’ve been attending psychiatric training programs on narcissism and reading many books on the subject.
Bottom line is that the Democrats and liberals confuse good leadership qualities with narcissism.

According to the book Narcissism: Behind the Mask, there are four basic types of leader with narcissists most commonly in type 3 although they may be in type 1:
1. authoritarian with task oriented decision making
2. democratic with task oriented decision making
3. authoritarian with emotional decision making
4. democratic with emotional decision making
Donald Trump is the most strategic individual I have ever observed. He definitely fits in group 1 and not group 3.
It has often been said that the best type of government is a benevolent dictatorship. It’s how most families are run as you can’t allow the children to make the decisions.
