Correct me if I’m wrong, but Marines are still schlepping 80 to 100 lbs packs, right?

They may not be hoisting 900 pound antitank guns over the seawall as their great-grandfathers did at Tarawa 75 years ago, but in combat they will be expected to do something functionally equivalent.

I don’t see the female Lt. leading by example here.

During their training at TBS the young 2Lt's usually take out about 120lbs on Range Week if they are going to stay overnight. One group was ordered to pack extra and were lugging over 130lbs. One of their female Lt's was about 5'1" and weighed about 100lbs. She had a difficult time.
