The U.S. Army has stopped discharging immigrant recruits who enlisted seeking a path to citizenship — at least temporarily.
A memo shared with The Associated Press on Wednesday and dated July 20 spells out orders to high-ranking Army officials to stop processing discharges of men and women who enlisted in the special immigrant program, effective immediately.
It was not clear how many recruits were impacted by the action, and the Pentagon did not immediately respond to requests for comment about the memo.
“Effective immediately, you will suspend processing of all involuntary separation actions,” read the memo signed by Acting Assistant Secretary of the Army for Manpower and Reserve Affairs Marshall Williams.
The disclosure comes one month after the AP reported that dozens of immigrant enlistees were being discharged or had their contracts cancelled. Some said they were given no reason for their discharge. Others said the Army informed them they’d been labeled as security risks because they have relatives abroad or because the Defense Department had not completed background checks on them

We absolutely have to take back control of the English language.
No one has any problem with immigrants serving in the military. Who would argue with someone who has legally come to this country and become a citizen serving in our armed forces?
Trespassing foreign citizens are another matter. That’s the term I think we should start insisting on in these discussions: “Trespassing Foreign Citizens.” Not “Dreamers” and certainly not “Immigrants”.

Such a false premise. Anyone being processed because of the immigrant program they were being process because of deficiencies in the recruit.

Is that qualifier really necessary? As a thought experiment, imagine our military were composed exclusively of non-citizens, legal or otherwise. How do you suppose that would work out?
It’s illegal for illegal aliens to enlist, the Kenyanesian Usurper illegally allowed some to enlist illegally.
We MUST restore the rule of law or we lose our country.

Think of the Somali police etc...its not hard to imagine they would infiltrate the military...
Immigrants in the military have always had relatives in foreign countries...I had Mom, Dad, siblings etc...
I guess if this represents the thinking in the military nowadays & I’m a veteran,maybe I could run for Sec. of Defense,Sec. of the Army or somesuch. Doesn’t seem to require any deep thinkers.

Uh, didn’t we used to let people gain citizenship in this fashion? I mean way back. In my somewhat limited view, this is an OK way to do it.

If this keeps up, they’ll have to issue a new type of hat so their troopers can feel extra special special.
