I think you paint an unflattering picture of Trump's ability to read people. It's a bit insulting, IMHO, almost like some of the arguments the left proposes. Like Trump is full of himself, etc. I prefer to think of him as just an outright winner - knows how to win, knows how to adjust when he needs to - I think he's masterful at it.

And I think you are being a bit over-sensitive on his behalf. Nothing I said insults the President or is unflattering. It simply is true. Heck, he even wrote a book about the art of negotiation, which is something only a person who believes strongly in his powers of persuasion would do.
Strong self-confidence, persuasiveness, and an outgoing nature are great qualities for anyone to have. They are a big part of why such personalities often succeed in life. However, these same qualities can be a detriment in some situations. Speaking with Mueller is fraught with danger for President Trump. It's a potential disaster waiting to happen. This is one time the President should trust his lawyers instead of his own naturally open inclination.
