Troy Balderson vs. Danny O’Connor: LIVE Ohio special election results
Conservative Review ^ | August 7, 2018 | staff

Tonight, the Ohio special election widely seen as a referendum on President Donald Trump reaches its conclusion.

Republican Troy Balderson is running with Trump’s endorsement in a district the president won by 11 points in 2016. He’s running for a seat that has been held by a Republican since 1983, but his Democratic opponent, Danny O’Connor, is running surprisingly close to him. He’s a moderate Republican who supports a pathway to citizenship for so-called “Dreamers” and wants any Obamacare replacement to include pre-existing conditions regulations.

O’Connor has positioned himself as a moderate Democrat, pledging that if elected he would not vote for Nancy Pelosi as speaker of the House. Recent polling has the race in a statistical tie.

If the O’Connor wins, or if Balderson wins narrowly, the media narrative will be that Trump is no king-maker and he can’t save the Republican Party from an oncoming blue wave in November.

Quite right! Rest assured the RINO Kasich will attempt to undermine him again in November, and any other conservative candidates! But for now, congrats Ohio 12!

The turnout on today’s races is unsettling.
Ohio much higher % turnout for the Left even though the right had a higher number by a few thousand.

Michigan Gov race again much higher turnout #’s Left.

Missouri much stronger Right sided turnout.
Kansas much stronger Right sided turnout as well. November will depend on turnout, POTUS is going to keep up the rallies but some Nov surprises would help.

Balderson has won....ahead at all votes in except provisionals. Those are the tricky ones. That’s where dems cheat

Balderson’s lead is still solid if narrow.

Still counts as a win for Trump.

Provisional and absentee yet to be counted. OH SOS says ~8500 votes.

You can bet your mortgage the Dems will try to steal every single one of those.

Thanks for the background info on this guy.

If it were not for the specter of Pelosi, there really shouldn't be any reason to sweat for these types. The one certain bright spot this cycle is that Paul Ryan will be gone, gone, gone.

Half of congress is composed of Bush league dinosaurs with no loyalty to their constituents or their country.

The now-retired Republican Congressman from Ohio CD-12 won his 2016 election with almost 67% of the vote.
