COLUMBUS, Ohio--As Election Day nears in what's expected to be the closest congressional race Ohio has seen in years, both major-party candidates for the 12th Congressional District agree the outcome will depend on one thing: turnout.
With turnout for Tuesday's special election expected to be low, the race between Republican Troy Balderson and Democrat Danny O'Connor isn't hanging on which candidate can win the most swing voters. Rather, it's a contest to see who can get their party's faithful to show up.
The 12th District, which runs from Mansfield down to north Columbus and east to Zanesville, has been won by a Democrat exactly once since 1940. It covers some of the most Republican areas of the entire state.

Go, Republican, Troy Balderson....Get Out The Vote, GOP (GOTV)...Go, Congressman, Jim Jordan, Go POTUS, Donald J. Trump, Go, Make America great again, (MAGA)!!!
Remember, folks, a vote cast for any Democrat, is a vote cast to destroy the America Nation Republic and its people. The future of yourselves, your children, your grandchildren is at stake, Do you really want Nancy Pelosi, Maxine Waters, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortes, Chuck Schumer, Bernie Sanders, Cory Booker, Elizabeth Warren, etc., as the leaders of your destinies?
Praying the GOP voters turn out in record numbers......and dwarf all voter fraud and demcRAT votes
Hey, I got a phone call (on my landline) from Joe Biden yesterday, asking me to vote for Danny O’Connor in a very important race in Ohio...but I live in Indiana, and have for 5 years! In fact, we get these political calls for pretty much every “important” issue facing Ohioans, and have been getting them starting a few months after we moved. So annoying.
I’ve tried multiple times to contact the Secretary of State’s office, by phone call and email, so far to no avail. I hope that my calls yesterday will get the job done this time.
Attacking Lebron James was probably not the best headline the weekend before the election.
They know you moved. But since they think you’re a Democrat, they’re saying you should vote anyway even if you don’t live in the district.
I thought that, too, the first time we got a phone call. It was for a Democrat candidate. Thing is, over the years, the Republicans call, too. We even get calls on “issues”! We think that what happened was that in the first months after our move, the phone company left a recording that gave our new phone number. Someone from a political persuasion entered that number into the database, not checking the area code. It tells me that they really don’t care if they harass you for the rest of your life. If we continue to get phone calls for Ohio voting, I’m going to have to take more serious steps. I think I’ve been too patient.
He didn’t attack LeBron, you’re towing the liberal line w that spin.
LeBron said Trump is returning us to slavery, a idiotic and malicious charge. Trump called him dumb basically. Trump had a right and responsibility to refute that smear.
Bush 2 cowered in fear under the lefts attacks and it got him approval #s in the 20s and gave us Obama.
Besides LeBron campaigned for Hillary and Ohio still went big for Trump.
He would have done better to just attack Lemon... LeBron went on trying just to talk up his charity and Lemon relentlessly baited him for an anti-Trump comment. Nobody likes Lemon while alot of people like Lebron.
And according to Rush Franklin CO the R’s usually lead in early voting but not this time, the Dim’s are leading.
Doesn’t sound good.
It’s like are people brain dead? Can they not see and hear what the left are and what the want to do??
Absolutely false. Franklin County is big Dem territory there is no surprise there Dem got the early vote lead there.
I heard Rush too and he sounded confused. I tagged LS on this because he knows OH
Oh okay, I don’t know that district. Rush was confused.
Can you think of a single person who attacked Donald Trump (as Lebron did) and Trump did not hit back?
Go ahead ... scratch your thinning hair furiously and come up with just one name. I am waiting.
He is being attacked continuously, so it is futile to try to respond to every attack. I would rather him spend time formulating a strategy to get funding for the border wall.
That is his MO and at age 70+ non-career politician, I do not expect him to change.
The wall strategy simply requires funding by congress, and cheap labor express career politicians in pockets of the donor class do not want to stop flow of millions of cheap labor across the southern border. Have you not heard the king of donor class (the Koch’s) already raise serious objections to tariffs which cuts down their profits due to their factories moved to cheaper labor countries? The sooner voters realize how they have been screwed by the cheap labor express, the better we will all be.
Only thing the POTUS can do is veto appropriations bill which does not fund the wall, and Trump has already threatened that. And he has brought the wall up in every one of his 100+ rallies.
