President Donald Trump has weighed in on the Kansas gubernatorial race.
Just a day before Republican voters head to polls to pick their nominee for governor, Trump tweeted his support for Secretary of State Kris Kobach.
Noting that Kobach was an early supporter of his, Trump called the GOP candidate a fantastic guy who loves his State and our Country.
(H)e will be a GREAT Governor and has my full & total Endorsement! Strong on Crime, Border & Military, Trump continued.

Winning. O how the Progs HATE Kris Kobach!
He hasn't won yet. But he will benefit from the fact that it's a four person primary and will be a three person general election. He could slip in with 35 or 40 percent of the vote.
He’ll be a great president. Ask Ms. Coulter.
As a Kansan, I love Kobach. However, his running mate Wink Hartman, has tagged his vehicles in Florida to avoid Kansas personal property tax. He owns a home in Florida, but tagging his gehicles there inducates to me that he considers himself a Floridian rather than a Kansan. Now maybe he has since changed over to Kansas, but I doubt it. While he was running for Congress, I would see him driving his Rolls-Royce and it was tagged in Florida.
My sister lives in Leawood and he doesn't seem overly popular there.
It looks like Kobach will win tomorrow. he was ahead before this endorsement, so this will probably seal the deal. The question is, can he win the general?
Republicans Governor Primary
Jeff Colyer, incumbent
Jim Barnett, former state senator
Kris Kobach, secretary of state
Patrick Kucera
Tyler Ruzich
Ken Selzer, Kansas insurance commissioner
Joseph Tutera Jr.
The problem with that is I haven't seen anything saying he is ahead. The Trafalger Group poll putting him ahead of Colyer was matched by a Remington Research poll putting Colyer ahead of Kobach. Also, a quarter of the Kansas population lives in Wyandotte and Johnson Counties, and the Kansas 3rd went for Hillary in 2016 so a Trump endorsement might not help in the eastern part of the state.
The question is, can he win the general?
Depends on how much of the Democrat vote Orman siphons off I guess. One thing about third party candidates is that they very seldom do as well the second time around as they did the first time. The question is, can he win the general?
Kucera, Ruzich, and Tutera aren’t even registering in the polls. But Barnett and Selzer are going to guarantee either Kobach or Colyer takes the nomination with about 35% of the vote.
In KS?
You have GOT to be kidding, Doodle.
A Trump endorsement is pure gold anywhere outside the West Coast and New York.
We'll see.
Good. Lobachevsky is the right guy
Fire those aids
While an endorsement from President Trump will be helpful in Kansas, Kobach's close association with Governor Brownback is not helpful. Brownback, while good on social issues, is not popular with even with Republicans.
I saw an article that said Kobach was +7 in the Real Clear Politics average, but I see that this was mistaken, its only the Trafalger poll.
The Trump endorsement will help Kobach because it will help the turnout. Many Kobach voters are silent, it’s not socially acceptable.
Kansas was a purple state at the state level in the not too distant past. The Congressional districts were spilt for many years.
Whuh?
On both sides.
Thats what my stupid keyboard put in when I typed Korbach
Dont ask me. I cant figure it out
