I think this is an excellent question that all Democrat candidates should raise during the upcoming campaign.
Nobody questioned the legitimacy of the 1992 election of Bill Clinton. Slick only got in because every vote that George H.W. Bush did not get, was subtracted by the vote for H. Ross Perot. Clinton did not lose a single vote to Perot, not one.
A minority election if ever there was.
