Both sides of my family have substantial longevity....almost all have gotten into their 80s and more than a few have gotten into their 90s.
Having a background in medicine I'm convinced that life expectancy in the US is,to a substantial degree,a function of "lifestyle".

Lifestyle is important but I’m putting my money on genes. Of course, genes affect lifestyle.
