I wonder if part of that saying is that for some/many, even though they have millions of dollars and “love” all the stuff it can buy; they still feel unfulfilled? So then they turn to the weird stuff?
Rich people consume psych drugs more than poor people. There’s a lesson there. People achieve material success undreamt of in human history. And they down lithium because they are miserable. My mother died middleclass surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and never touched a filthy psych drug in her life.
Ted Turner could never say that for all his wealth and power.
