I am not sure if it is trendy but I have heard women call each other the b-word recently and not meant in a confrontational way. A synonym for friend.

Yeah, sort of some 27th generation feminism, whereby they take back the “c” word (actually probably both “C” words) for themselves, I guess — just as the “N” and “Q” words have been taken back.
Just be careful not to try appropriating them yourself!
