Amazing the forces unleashed in rolling in a vehicle isnt it ?
I survived a rollover that was actually a flip and spin (counterclockwise BTW) by holding onto and ripping the passenger seat loose. We had the seatbelts out of the car while recarpeting it.
100 yards is a veeery long way when upside down and spinning on the roof. Ive still got asphalt in My shoulder from it scraping on the street when the back window came out.
No, Apple will just say that Samsung stole it from them. It's the Apple way!
I don’t know but suspect other peoples’ experience is the cracking of their phones. Once it gets a fairly long crack, it is only time before the screen becomes inoperable. It can be restored where I live but costs about $200 plus for new screen installed.
If this can solve that...
I would think this material would solve ALL those problems..................
That remains to be seen...................
In America, there are two types of glass used in automobile windows.
The first is known as safety glass and was for many years used in windshields, door glass and rear glas. Safety glass is laminated. That is, two layers of glass are laminated with a butyl layer in between. All windshields are made of safety glass becuse a head hurtling forward will cause the glass to absorb the impact. On the other hand, it will not break if impacted from outside.
The second glass is tempered glass. The glass is heated and then cooled causing the outer surfaces to contract and thus produce tension. That temper absorbs all sorts of impact but will not give way. If the windshield was tempered, the impact would destroy the skull. However, if there is a point impact, the tempered glass will shatter into thousands of small pieces. Thus, in an emergency, the tempered glass can be inpacted by a small pointed tool and fragment allowing access or egess.
The use of plastic is thus unsafe because it will not break or fragment or give on impact.
If Im correct, auto glass is designed to break into small enough pieces that they wont present a mortal threat to the occupants.
All fully tempered glass fragments in that manner.
Action movie makers love to film a large panel of tempered glass exploding as the hero or the villan crashes through the window. .
that’s real roadrash...
