It is my personal theory that the most ardent promoters of socialism are merely doing it to attain a cushy position of power over a large enough economic base of peons to support them as they live out the fullness of their underlying capitalist aspirations. They don’t REALLY want socialism except as a route to that end. If you can get them to that desired end without the socialism element, you short-circuit the situation and remove the impetus for all the activism and sloganeering.]
Much truth here. I’ve seen this as well. I had a professor once say, “When the revolution comes I’m going to get that house up there on the hill overlooking the water.” Ha! So then HE’LL be a ‘capitalist’ trying to hold on to what he would now consider HIS. Funny how THAT works!

You seem to be confused, stealing huge sums through government action is not quite the same as capitalism.
