Stalin was never an “International Socialist”, he was a hardcore Russian nationalist, who Russified the Soviet Union, against the expressed wishes of Lenin and Trotsky.

That’s technically not possible, but certainly he took advantage of national patriotism (just as Xi Jinping is today); so that’s what I was talking about. Joseph and Adolf had a lot in common, being non-nationals running their “national” empires (Joseph from Georgia instead of Russia, Adolf from Austria instead of Germany).

Joseph still had no problem contrasting national socialism and fascism with his own “socialism in one country” by using the misnomer “far right”, despite the obvious commonalities of rhetoric.
